At EP Team, investing in people is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that the long-term success of our business depends on developing talented individuals who possess the ambition, professionalism, and potential to become the leaders of tomorrow. Through our internal Leadership and Career Development Programme, we identify and nurture employees who demonstrate exceptional performance and a genuine desire to progress their careers. Candidates are recommended by supervisors, managers, and directors based on their commitment, capability, and dedication to upholding the high standards that define EP Team.
Once selected, participants begin a structured career development programme designed to enhance both operational capability and personal growth. The programme is delivered across three levels:
- Level 1 – Aspiring Supervisor
- Level 2 – Supervisor Development
- Level 3 – Mental Resilience
Covering a broad range of industry disciplines, the programme reinforces the core values and professional standards that define the EP Team culture, while equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to lead teams effectively, make informed decisions, and deliver exceptional service in demanding and dynamic environments.

The course comprises 10 modules delivered over 10 days and explores key areas including Leadership and Motivation, Conflict Management and Professionalism, and Mental Resilience and Staff Welfare. Participants will develop the essential competencies needed to support their progression as effective leaders. Upon successful completion of the programme, all participants will be awarded the Zone Ex Operations Leadership Development Award for Management.
By combining leadership development with practical operational knowledge, participants are prepared to plan, coordinate, and manage events of varying scale and complexity. Communication also forms a central element of the programme, enabling future leaders to engage professionally and effectively with clients, stakeholders, colleagues and members of the public while building strong relationships and representing EP Team to the highest standard.
Our investment in career development not only supports individual career progression but also strengthens the future of the organisation. Over the years, several members of the team have progressed from temporary and casual roles to become integral members of our head office Operations and Recruitment teams, demonstrating the tangible impact of investing in talent from within.
The programme has had a lasting impact on those involved, including Event Coordinator Ivana Bolaric and Staffing Coordinator Heather Ryan, who joined with a shared motivation to advance their careers and prepare themselves for new leadership challenges.
A key feature of the programme is its emphasis on practical leadership skills. Participants consistently identify conflict resolution and difficult conversations training as among the most valuable elements, alongside networking and peer-to-peer learning, practical application projects, and mentorship and coaching sessions. These experiences continue to have a significant impact on their day-to-day leadership roles.
The benefits extend far beyond the classroom. Participants have been able to apply their learning directly in operational environments, often in situations where remaining calm and exercising good judgement are critical. One individual reflected on how the programme changed their approach when dealing with a suspicious person at an event, “the training helped me approach the situation calmly and professionally rather than resorting to confrontation.”
This practical application of conflict management skills ensured that both the individual and the wider public remained safe, demonstrating the real-world value of the programme.

The experience has also transformed the way participants lead and support their teams. One member explained that the programme “encouraged me to work with others and make them feel part of the team,” highlighting a shift towards a more inclusive and collaborative style of leadership.
From increased confidence and resilience to improved communication, stronger teamwork, reduced staff turnover and effective conflict management, the benefits of the programme are wide-ranging and deeply felt. Most importantly, participants leave the programme equipped not only to excel in their own roles, but to lead others, foster a positive culture, and help drive the organisation forward.
At EP Team, we are proud to develop talent from within and provide opportunities for our people to grow, succeed and lead with confidence. By building a pipeline of capable, knowledgeable and confident leaders, we are ensuring that EP Team remains well positioned to meet the evolving demands of the security, safety, traffic and event management sectors for years to come.
